In addition to two annual corporate meal drive initiatives across the country, Hendrick Automotive Group individuals, teams, departments and dealerships also implement their own initiatives. While our corporate initiatives focus a great deal on the issue of hunger, other efforts support local youth, veterans, public servants or help healthcare, education, homelessness or animal welfare organizations.
Since 2001, Hendrick Automotive Group has organized an annual meal drive where employees collect and assemble food for traditional holiday meals complete with turkey and pie. Our teammates distribute these meals to families just in time for Thanksgiving Day. To date, more than 29,000 meals have been donated to help feed 116,000 people.
Each spring our teammates come together to collect, pack and distribute Easter holiday meal items prior to spring break – a week seen by many families as 10 days without access to school-provided breakfasts and lunches for their children. This program began in 2011 and has resulted in 21,380 meals delivered to date to feed more than 85,520 people.
